Added arrival to the radio tower
Happy March, and thank you for the ko-fi donation enabling this update to come out sooner than it was going to! <3
Ah man, what to say about this update? We're steadily starting to move towards the spot where the story rolls itself all the way into its ending, and as I have mentioned before, it will be concluded either late this year or some time next year. I had to deal with moving cities around New Year's, but now that my routine has finally settled, I am hoping I will have a more steady routine for writing for STS as well.
Writing endings, and starting to write the spot where the story will rise, grow, and achieve its high point, then drift into the ending - that is a challenge. There is always a temptation to write just a bit more before you start writing the ending and the rumbles that lead into that, always a temptation to write just a bit more to foreshadow, to tug at the heartstrings, to describe, to worldbuild.
However, I believe that every story deserves an ending, and it is better to make things too short than too long. This story is not a very good example on that, I feel it might already be a bit on the lenghtier side; which is all the more reason for me to stay firm on the course as I steer the story into its conclusion.
It also means that for me, writing 10 passages of update (such as for this one) might take 6 hours of total time I need to steal from evenings and lucid moments of focus in my waking hours. It sounds like a slow pace, and it is! It is slow, because at this point of story there is a lot to consider, a lot to check back on, to keep in mind.
I also think there is a lot of temptation to try to make the ending perfect. It won't be - not with my skills, and not with this story, as I've been trying to get it out of my system already since 2017. It won't be perfect to me, but as each reader gives it their own meanings, perhaps it will be perfect to someone?
As for me, I am focusing on getting it done.
I will see you next month the latest! Thank you for your continued interest, support, donations and comments, I'm glad this story interests you all <3
